Covering historical events always comes with a special energy, but being at Morumbi for Rogério Ceni’s farewell match was an unforgettable experience. As a photographer, I’ve witnessed many remarkable moments, but that game was different.

The stadium was packed, the crowd roared as if it were a championship final, and each click of my camera captured not just a match, but a piece of São Paulo’s history. Rogério, an undisputed legend, was saying goodbye to the field where he built his legacy. But he wasn’t alone. Several former São Paulo idols were present, making the moment even more special. Seeing so many legends reunited on the field reinforced the magnitude of that event.

As I worked, I found myself getting emotional. Seeing the fans’ devotion, the players’ gestures of gratitude, and the indescribable atmosphere of that day made me realize how lucky I was to be there, capturing every detail through my lens.

This was more than just a photography assignment. It was a special chapter in my career, where I didn’t just document an event—I lived its emotions.
I believe that all journalists like to collect credentials, and this is one of my favorites in my collection. M1to’s farewell
